Join us as we celebrate 25 years of Edinburgh Napier’s Transport Research Institute (TRI)

TRI’s 25th anniversary Timeline Event, Thursday 29 April.

At this event, you will hear from past members of TRI who will describe how it shaped over the years and the contributions they made to its current success. Hear from past students who will share their experiences at Napier and how their skills opened up job opportunities in the transport sector and learn more about the research and teaching work which TRI is involved in and how this might be relevant to you.

This is an online webinar starting from the Transport Research Institute’s inception in 1996, history, how it developed, running through to present day and our future plans.

TRI, together with the wider Civil and Transportation Subject Group, have provided the MSc in Transport Planning and Engineering since 1991.  Many of our alumni have obtained senior positions in public bodies, local authorities, consultancies and 3rd sector transport related organisations, as well as continuing studies on to PhD level.

The event will open with a Welcome Address from Prof Andrea Nolan, Edinburgh Napier’s Principal & Vice Chancellor.

Register here.

About TRI

Building on Edinburgh Napier’s success as a provider of teaching in Civil and Transportation Engineering, TRI is the most well-known transport research group in Scotland, delivering high-quality transport research, consultancy and other knowledge transfer projects in high-impact settings.

The skills and academic proficiency that TRI brings covers a wide range of fields, from engineering, AI and human factors, through economics, business and mathematical modelling, to sociology and psychology.

TRI is well-known for its research on transport policy, public transport, transport economics, road safety, modelling of users’ behaviour, active travel, freight transport, street infrastructure and electric vehicles.  We are now also developing a strong research profile in areas such as health and sustainability, data and connected technology, advanced air mobility, hydrogen-electric aviation, driving simulation, Emergency Healthcare transport and inclusive design.
