The second Cross-Party Group on Sustainable Transport meeting of 2022 is taking place next week, on Thursday 24 February at 1-2pm.

The main theme for this session will be demand management.

Here’s what you can expect from the meeting:

13:00 The CPG convenor Graham Simpson MSP will start proceedings and introduce the agenda.

13:10 Richard Riley (Senior Principal at Element Energy consultancy) will then be discussing the role of demand management in meeting Scotland’s 20% car traffic reduction target.

13:30 There will be a Q+A session and an opportunity to ask Richard any questions you may have.

After a successful first meeting in January where Heather Cowan (the ‘Head of Climate Change and Just Transition for Transport’ at Transport Scotland) joined us to discuss the Scottish Government’s route map to achieve a 20% reduction in car kilometres by 2030; we look forward to further transport policy discussions.

Transform Scotland’s comms officer said: “After the diverse and informative discussion that resulted from the CPG meeting in January, I think we can expect another engaging session with lots of interesting debate next week.”
