Love My Bus
We report on the Scottish Government’s progress in meeting its sustainable transport commitments – from decarbonising the railways to investment in walking, wheeling and cycling.

The bus is the most used form of public transport in Scotland – accounting for around 75% of all public transport journeys.
Our Love My Bus project highlights the vital role buses play in connecting communities, reducing congestion, cutting carbon emissions, and more.
Love My Bus Youth Programme
We’re empowering Scotland’s young people to travel smarter, safer, and greener.
Our youth programme is designed to engage, educate, and inspire young people to choose buses and active travel as their everyday transport choice.
To date, we have:
- Reached 10,000+ students in 22 local authority areas through 200 interactive presentations.
- Partnered with nine major bus operators – including Stagecoach, McGill’s, First, Lothian, West Coast Motors, and Borders Buses – bringing buses and drivers directly into schools.
- Delivered hands-on learning experiences linking buses to eco-awareness, safety, literacy, health, and careers.

About Love My Bus
Lovemybus is a national campaign delivered by Transform Scotland to champion the benefits of bus travel for people, places, and the planet.

We work across Scotland to:
- Showcase the role of buses in improving health, the environment, our economy, and wellbeing.
- Support young people in understanding the benefits of public transport and encouraging sustainable, safe, and inclusive travel habits.
- Collaborate with schools, youth organisations, bus operators, and communities to create long-term positive change.
