Transform Scotland rail spokesperson Paul Tetlaw said:
“We note the statement from the Cabinet Minister on the intention to transfer the ScotRail operation to public ownership. We fully support the intention to bring infrastructure and operation of the railway into closer alignment to aid future planning and investment in the network.
“It is however essential that the future structure delivers ongoing investment in and enhancement of the railway in Scotland so that it can play a full role in decarbonisation of the transport sector and modal shift to public transport from the private car.”
