Notice of Transform Scotland 2016 Annual General MeetingPublished 15 September 2016 by Colin Howden
To: All representatives of Transform Scotland member groups:
I am delighted to invite you to join us on Thursday 27 October for our 2016 Annual General Meeting. The event will be held at the European Room, City Chambers, High Street, Edinburgh. I am very grateful to Cllr Lesley Hinds for hosting the event.
The AGM will be held from 18:15-18:45, with reception open from 18:00.
The agenda for the AGM is available (see right).
This year, the Board of Directors have brought forward two Motions that they would like the membership to adopt. These require formal consent of the membership at a General Meeting as they involve changing our company articles. The first Motion brings forward proposals for reorganising the Board’s membership structure (reducing the membership from fifteen to between six and ten members, but also creating an associated Policy Forum); the second Motion proposes a minor change to the formal title of the company. Both Motions are available (see right).
Members are welcome to submit their own Motions to the AGM. The deadline for submission of Motions is Thursday 6 October. Please contact me if you would like further details.
This year there is no invitation to nominate new board members at this General Meeting as the Board has proposed that there will instead be a full ballot of the membership to elect the new Board in the event of the membership adopting the Motion to amend the Board membership structure.
To register to attend the AGM, please email me at <firstname.lastname@example.org>.
The AGM will be followed by a speaker event, from 19:00-20:00, which itself will be followed by a drinks reception. Full details will follow for this event in the near future, but if you’d also like to join us for these then it’d be helpful if you could also advise me accordingly.
I look forward to seeing you on Thursday 27 October.
Director, Transform Scotland
